101 step 2

Hebrews 1:2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son

Is the Son talking to you or do you still do whatever you want?

When we go shopping for food, do we choose what is good for us or what we like?

John 6:27 Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.”
Romans 14:20 Do not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. Everything is indeed clean, but it is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats.

This is what I heard my Lord say to me. What I do with those words is by faith.

Here is a portion set before you. I will not treat you like a mother and tell you “Eat it, it’s good for you.” What I prepare according to my hearing is presented and is now beyond my control to determine what happens next. That is between you and your Lord.

When we first come to the Lord we might find it difficult to hear the Lord who whispers with all the noise around us. He who loves us does not shout at us.

Perhaps the Spirit is reminding you of scriptures that bring light to this moment. That is how it should be and that is beyond my control. I can only relay what I have heard. What the Spirit does with it is between you and our Lord. I would not have it any other way.

Then there are those things the Lord says that are personal and just for me. They are not for consumption. The way I know that is by decades of listening and the mistakes I have made along the way. We cannot know what we should do just because we would choose the easier path. That is not being obedient.

Acts 16:6 And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.

I am no Paul but the Spirit does let me know when my choices are not His choices.

There have been times when I opened my mouth and nothing came out. Today is not that day.

God 101

Hebrews 1 English Standard Version

1 Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. 3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Classes identified as 101 are the basic issues that must be studied in order to move on to more complex issues.

In this media I never get an argument back about what I post. It is safe and everyone that reads my posts seems to believe the 101 basics. I have moved on from the basic principles but what do we say to someone that says there is no God? We would have to begin with the basics if we are going to be given the opportunity to witness for our God. It is even more difficult if that person believes in another god.

I asked a Buddist why they follow Budda and I got this answer, “So I can be a good person.” So I asked her, “Can’t you do that without Budda?” She turned her back and walked away. It just now occurred to me that I cannot be righteous without Jesus, so maybe that was the wrong question to ask.

The issue for the godless is founded in self-satisfaction. They are content without worrying about a higher authority. They do not want to be judged at all and any hint from us that questions their character will be met with hostility. In that sense they will be no different than a person that is firmly entrenched in the worship of a false god.

Here is step one of the 101 basics.

Mark 6:7 And he called the twelve and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean spirits.

Jesus gives us authority to speak on His behalf. Success with any group depends on what Jesus is asking of us. A parrot can mimic what he is taught to say but does not have all the answers. While we do not have all the answers, we know the One that does.
