Romans 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
The law is powerless to do anything except to show man to be sinful.
A doctor of theology once told me that the law is a mirror. It can do nothing except show what you are.
Romans 7:7b I had not known sin, but by the law:
So all we have to do is change the law and sin will no longer exist.
Romans 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
So, it is true, that man can have law without God. Doesn’t that make man godless?
Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Yet death reigned over man even if he did not sin. You can change the law all you want and eliminate sin with your laws, but you still have to deal with death. Do you really want to deal with death without God?
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
If this is true and you have said there is no God, then why do you fear the law? The law has no power.
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Do what you will, as for me I will not face sin nor death alone.
