Retraction

Galatians 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

When a newspaper writes a false story it is their responsibility to correct that error. They offer a retraction. They take back what they wrote by offering up the truth. When we speak error it is not as simple as taking back your words, they have fallen on the ears of another, entered into the mind and set the mind on a path of error.

I have had one of my worst weeks and I have struggled as the Holy Spirit has been withholding forward progress in me due to an error I spoke. Last week I told my disciple I have faith in the Holy Spirit. That is error and a retraction has to be made. Here it is.

Nowhere in the bible does it say we have faith in anything except Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit testifies of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit reveals the words of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit does the will of the Father. The Holy Spirit is the perfect example of humility because He will not allow credit to fall upon Him where that glory belongs to the person of Jesus Christ.

Do not offer up to me any consolation. This may not seem like a big deal to you but I am the one who mislead a disciple and it is for me to receive correction and make this retraction.

I can trust the Holy Spirit to do that which is consistent with who He is, His responsibilities, His character and His consistency is the same as God the Father, He does not change.

As this retraction falls upon that disciple, may the Holy Spirit straighten the path within that mind and lead him back on the right path.

  1. Actually, your retraction is a wonderful statement of truth, made stronger, I feel, because it is a retraction.
In line with what you’ve said, it underscores why I don’t feel we should pray to the Holy Spirit. He always points us to Christ, our only mediator.
