Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
As I said yesterday, the things of this world will not fill the emptiness inside you, that loneliness. God has promised you that He will not only fill your heart with all joy, but that He will not leave you nor forsake you.
This point to the bigger problem. How did we come to this state of emptiness in the first place?
Romans 5:12,14 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
All of us will die and whatever relationship we have on this earth will end because of death. Mother’s and father’s die. Sisters and brothers die. My son and I both lost wives. Sadly even our children sometimes die untimely deaths which seems the most painful loss of all. Because this is true then allow me to point to God’s cure for all our loneliness since death is the ultimate enemy.
Isaiah 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
1 Corinthians 15:56-57 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
