God as Witness

Romans 1:9 English Standard Version (ESV) For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I mention you

2 Corinthians 1:23 English Standard Version (ESV) But I call God to witness against me—it was to spare you that I refrained from coming again to Corinth.

Truth will be revealed by God and lies will be exposed.

When we rely on God to be our witness, we do not have to worry about the results of words spoken.

This is why it is important to have a deep personal relationship with God. To know Him in the most personal way will reveal God’s truth to us and keep us in His mercy and grace. He is merciful because we are not yet perfected and He is gracious because He loves us unconditionally.

We exhort you to pay attention to this relationship and not neglect time with God. Make the most of the time spent with Him. Do not allow the world to distract you because distractions interfere with relationship. This is why it was asked recently; “Where do you take Christ?”

The bigger the distraction, the harder it is to hear that still small voice.

1 Kings 19:11-12 English Standard Version

11 And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.

Those were loud things where the Lord was not speaking.
