It is my opinion that the Amplified gives the best understanding of this verse. That is my opinion and only has as much sway on the opinions of others as they so choose.

I grew up with the KJV which in every verdict of opinion was an archaic use of the English language even at the time of its publication. It is my opinion that it was intentional. Once again, no one need agree with my opinion. It matters not.

I appreciate that the ESV and AMPC include footnotes. I also appreciate that the KJV does not. That is just my opinion. My conclusions are mine.

Whenever I am doing my bible studies, the Holy Spirit brings reminders to me in the King James Version because that is where I placed those bible verses into my storage locker for future use. When I receive a word from the Lord it is not always in the KJV. His meaning and intent is not located in that translation and I must search elsewhere.
