Rendered

Numbers 18:9

This shall be yours of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every offering of theirs, every grain offering of theirs and every sin offering of theirs and every guilt offering of theirs, which they render to me, shall be most holy to you and to your sons.

What is rendered? According to verse 8, consecrated things. What is done with the consecrated thing is seen in verse 10. We shall eat it in a Holy Place.

John 17:19

And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

Luke 22:19

And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

While there are many uses of the word rendered there is one that connected Numbers 18:9 and Luke 22:19 and that is to bring remembrance.

The essence of sanctification in truth is how the Spirit of Truth brings back into remembrance all the Words of the Lord and ties them all together in order that we might see His plan that was laid out from the very beginning. God does according to His will with purpose and intent.

John 8:32

and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

There will be some who say that is a stretch of the imagination and there is no connection between Numbers 18:9 and Luke 22:19. Fair enough, may the light of His Word shine in our hearts to bring about what each of us need. That is just one issue in which truth sets us free.

Relationships are connections. God gave Adam Eve as a proper helpmate. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit as our Helper. We as the bride of Christ are His helpmate.

1 Corinthians 12:28

And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.

I turned to my accountability partner to help me understand if helps is a spiritual gift or a natural gift and in our final conversation on the matter he said “God has appointed to the church”.

Spiritual or natural does not matter since it is God the Father who has appointed each of us to help Christ in whatever way He needs us. Be a “can do” helpmate.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
