Psalm 51:12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Lately I have been watching shows which deal with restoring classic cars. Sometimes they are sold, sometimes just for show. The one thing that resounds over and over again is the term attention to detail. It is the tiny little things that make the cars authentic in every detail. That increases their worth.
God is in the restoration business. He is trying to restore us to His original design. We have the manual, the bible. God supplies all that is needed. We are the workmen and it is up to us to pay attention to detail. So what is hinders the restoration proves?
Imagine if you will that you presented a car to show and another car just like yours was up for judging and was identical in every detail. His has a tool kit and yours does not. While it isn’t part of the physical car, it was provided with the car when new. He wins just for that cause.
Romans 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
Restoration isn’t completed merely by effort. What does it matter if you are perfected and have not rendered all the finer details of authenticity?
Ephesians 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Whole armor, done all, attention to detail. Authentic.
