Psalm 14:1a The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.

A common lie among the unbelieving is that there is no God. What I would like for you to do is stop trying to prove God exists. It is a fool’s errand. Not that believing God is foolish but that we waste precious time trying to debunk this lie.

Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

God reveals Himself, we do not unmask God like it is a magic trick. Our task is to be obedient to our Lord and to share His love and His Word. God does not want convinced Christians, He has only convicted Christians. God reveals Himself to man thru grace and truth.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

As it was for us when we first believed, so it has to be for all who come to Christ. I remember that day when I beheld His Glory. It was deeply personal. I experienced it. You cannot make someone see God. God has called you to be gracious and truthful. Be authentic. Do not expect the blind to see God in you. God will reveal Himself. Do not feel pressured to perform.

Psalm 3:8 Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.

There is and always has been the insistence that man can save himself. People consider themselves spiritual and in an effort to save themselves tell themselves and anyone who will listen that all you have to do is grow spiritually. Sounds good on the outside, but what is the standard? How do you measure spiritual growth? How do you grow spiritually?

Advancing the human condition without goals or standards is nothing more than self-worship. They will not admit that but being better for the sake of being better is to glorify self. Every self-help idea is based around effort produces results. Works save you is the bottom line.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Boasting is the glorification of self. The last thing these people want is for the glory to go to anyone else but themselves. Christianity is the only religion that says you cannot save yourself. That is why it is rejected by these spiritualists. There claims against Jesus Christ are not based on investigation of truth but rather pride of life.

1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
