Earth Plant

Matthew 25:25, 30 And I (a lost sinner) was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. (Jesus says) And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Yesterday I left off with these passages. More can be learned by reading all of Matthew 25 but for the purpose of faith planting, let us deal only with where you place your faith. Place your faith in Christ and you will receive the promises in Christ. Place your faith in anything else and you will only receive the promises made under that authority.

Place your faith in Wall Street. What do they promise? Wealth or bankruptcy. There is no offer of salvation or removal of sins power over your life.

Place your faith in a college degree. They cannot even offer you the promise of a decent job offer, it is beyond their power to control. There is no of offer of salvation or removal of sins power over your life.

Place your faith in government. None of them are perfect, even the better ones. Still no offer of eternal life or removal of sins power over your life.

Place your faith in any religion other than Christianity and you will not find promises that compare to those offered in Christ. None of them offer salvation or removal of sins power over your life. I know this because only Christianity makes this promise.

John 14:19-21 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Faith Plant

John14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Yesterday I ended my devotional by saying God provided a way. If you have placed your faith in Christ you have access to the Father by faith, His way of communing with us. This is a most precious truth for those who are born again and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. To the rest of the world it is the most hated and vial of scriptures because it says whatever they are doing is wrong. They claim it is not fair.

Let us lay aside the promises for a moment and speak directly to this issue of fairness. It is my contention that God is perfect in every aspect. One of the aspects of God is fairness. He is a just God. God would not be unfair to anyone, no matter how evil or corrupt. All are be treated the same. If an offer is made to one, it is made to all.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The best known bible verse in all the world speaks this fairness plainly. Whosoever will place their faith in Christ will receive the promises of God, eternal life being one of them. For some people it is the only one that matters. Does that say that all are given a seed of faith to plant? It implies that it does but other scriptures are more plain in that pronouncement.

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

This says each man (and woman) has been given a measure of faith. Now where you place that faith will determine what that seed of faith produces.

Matthew 25:25, 30 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

The unprofitable servant planted his faith in the earth(world).
