2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
A common lie about the bible is that it was written by men to control the masses.
The majority who espouse this lie have never read the bible. Their issue is submission, they are in rebellion of authority. Which is exactly why the bible points out that man by nature is in rebellion to God’s authority.
Romans 2:14-15 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;
Where men make laws, they can change laws, which allows them control of their own fates. They answer to no one but themselves and if they do not like the results, change the narrative. For them there are no absolute truths and will not subject themselves to any authority.
Who exactly do these men accuse of this mass conspiracy? The bible claims to be authored by the children of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel). So, this is a Jewish conspiracy. That fits the hatred the world has for everything Jewish. Nothing convinces the weak and lazy mind like wide support.
If this were true, why didn’t these men write a more heroic narrative of the Jewish history? Why is it that these men portrayed Israel as men who continued to fail over and over again this God they promote? Once again, these that believe the lie have not read the bible.
The simple answer to this lie is challenging them to read the bible for themselves and making up their own minds rather than subjecting themselves to the control of others. Use their rebellious nature to see they are being controlled by others if they have not investigated the truth for themselves.
The Word of God is effectual and powerful. Let the Word do what the Word does best, change hearts.
Wow, my brother. You have really laid this out well. This comment: “nothing convinces the weak and lazy mind like wide support,” really sums up our culture. Thanks for this faithful and strong posting.
