Mark 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Do you believe without a shadow of doubt?
My experience is that this only happens via obedience of faith. There are many things I want to happen, even some really godly things, but if it is not the will of God, the results are disappointing. Failure will cause doubt. Did I really hear God? I mention this because hearing God is the most essential issue of moving in power.
Perhaps the problem isn’t that your heart isn’t right, but rather you need to become more familiar with God’s voice. Sorry, I don’t know any better way of expressing it, He speaks the language of faith. Faith is how we hear God. Faith is how we receive His commands. Obedience of faith is how we are used of God.
Romans 16:25-27 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.
The whole point to this comes into focus in the knowledge that the revelation of the mystery is for obedience of faith, and to glorify Jesus Christ, not us. So many of us just want to be used of God but we get busy rather than listening carefully.
Perhaps there should be a hearing test. What do you think?
Your message this morning made me think of Elijah in 1 Kings 19.
All the thunder, lightning, fire, etc. we’re not the voice of the LORD…..His voice was the “still small voice”. I have found in my life that it is hard to hear the Lord’s voice in the din of this world….it is better heard in the quiet of communion. Thank you for calling attention to our “hearing test”. Thank You Lord Jesus for giving me “ears to hear what the Spirit says”, and thank you for your Word and life in a country where we can openly read it.
