Exodus 20:18-19 And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
None are so deaf as those who refuse to hear. These people removed themselves far from God.
Do you want to hear God?
If you do want to hear God, what is your purpose?
V20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
Sin stands in our way. God will prove to us what we are and we will only hear Him if we are willing to forsake sin. God speaks to us to draw us lovingly closer to Him and that can only happen thru obedience of faith.
Romans 16:25-26 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
You cannot please God without faith, you cannot obey God without faith, you cannot hear God without faith.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Galatians 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Can you see thru these passages that faith has all the attributes of a language? Do you want to hear faith? Faith speaks all languages and dialects.
