2 Samuel 5:6b Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither:
Hidden within scriptures are words that would hold one meaning to the speaker, another to the one hearing, and yet something else to me.
I often times find a word or phrase in scriptures that remind me of my Lord. They are taken out of context. They do not have specific intent of design for a teachable moment. The issue isn’t the words, content, nor lesson. It is thinking on the Lord.
We often go thru a day and find a behavior or a look that reminds us of someone else. It could be pleasing or not. It could be someone you love or not. The mind often links our present situation to memories. It is a stirring of the mind.
I find these little moments in the bible pleasing to me. It is not wisdom. It is not theological, it isn’t even spiritual. It is pleasing to me because it indicates to me that I am in a relationship. My memory of my Lord is not fictional, fantasy, nor vanity. It is a real relationship.
I wasn’t searching for the moment. Just like memories that are stirred up during the day, I stumble upon them. It brings a smile to my heart. It is good to my soul. It is personal, it is mine.
Perhaps it is His way of waving hello in the scriptures.
Sweet.
