Led not Lead

Isaiah 48:17 (English Standard Version)

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go.

The flesh will lead you to believe profit is monetary. Those led by the Spirit know better.

Strong’s Definitions [profit]

יָעַל yâʻal, yaw-al’; a primitive root; properly, to ascend; figuratively, to be valuable (objectively; useful, subjectively; benefited):—× at all, set forward, can do good,

Isaiah 52:13 Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.

Being followers of Jesus Christ, having the indwelling Spirit, having opened our hearts to Him, we are led by the One who is high and lifted up. Please remember our past conversations regarding this body being His Temple, His dwelling place in us.

He teaches us how to do good because in Him we can ascend His Holy Hill.

Psalm 24:3  Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place?

This was Zion, Jerusalem, but now in Christ, the New Jerusalem.

  • Revelation 3:12 The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.
  • Revelation 21:2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

We, in Christ, are betrothed to the Lord, and He is preparing in us a dwelling place, just as the Father wills it, awaiting the time when the Father says, “Go Son, get your Bride.”

Until that day we are led as He teaches us to be profitable in righteousness, mercy and love.
