Luke 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
One of the most difficult of all scriptures to hear and understand is written here. These men that called Jesus Lord professed works that could only be wrought by God. In truth these works were performed by God. So how is it Jesus Christ denied them and cast them out with those who did not believe?
How many trust in God’s work as a sign of their personal salvation? I do not know, but even if it is one, that is one too many. The question remains, why would God use workers of iniquity to perform miracles? I can only believe the scriptures as to the cause.
Galatians 6:7a Be not deceived; God is not mocked:
Psalm 106:8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
God does what God does for His own name’s sake and His miracles are not based on relationship to who is used, but rather to deliver the lost to the knowledge of His power to save. There is power in His name and God will not be mocked by those who claim to work miracles in His name.
Do you stake you claim on salvation based on miracles, answered prayer, baptism or anything which you believe is a sign of God?
Have you been born again or not? Did the old man die or is he waving God’s glory?
