Partiality

Psalm 119:160a Thy word is true from the beginning:

We will always be confronted by those who declare, “The bible isn’t true because…..” The arguments of unbelief are vast and seemingly endless. I am not into apologetics, I don’t prepare answers for every little argument against faith. I will not speak about those who do, one way or the other. This isn’t about others, this is about me and the Word of God. If you recognize yourself in this conversation, praise God.

I have read my bible from cover to cover multiple times, every word, line upon line. Not everything I read is easy to understand. Some of the things challenge my understanding of the physical laws of nature. I cannot resolve every passage of the bible with logical reasoning. I just do not have a rational answer for everything I read.

When I am need of comforting I do not turn to the book of Deuteronomy or Numbers. I will look to the epistles in which I have found comfort. I will turn to Ephesians or Philippians long before I turn to the book of Job.

It is not me to use the bible to defend my faith. My faith is increased because I can turn to my bible to help me deal with any condition I find myself. He restores my peace by His Word. He comforts me by His Word. He undoes my unbelief with His Word.

“Well what about….?”

To them I say, “You are the one with the question. What is God telling you?”

Psalm 3:2 Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.

They may say that, but I know better. My faith isn’t based on what other people say but upon what God says.

His Word is true because it works in me.

  1. I’m with you, my brother. I admire those who are effective with apologetics, but I’m not one.
What you’ve said anyone could say – I know because I see the changes that have been wrought in me.
“The Spirit bears witness with my spirit that I am a child of God.”
