Relentless

1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Sin is relentless, it just doesn’t go away. This sin nature we were born with is still with us. The difference is in this, while we still have the capacity to sin, we no longer have the inclination to sin.

Romans 7:18-19 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Philippians 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Jeremiah 14:3 And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.

A vessel void of living waters is a vessel of shame.

Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

We, who are His, have the capacity for sin but lack the inclination. Our desire is for Him.
