Matthew 16:1-3 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
The weather forecast from all three of my weather apps said it was not going to rain last night. We had a heavy storm blow thru last night. I woke up to heavy thunder and lightning and downpour. So much for forecasts. We are use to the forecast being wrong aren’t we? We do not depend on the forecast to schedule our lives. Or do we?
I for one listen to forecasts as a call to look elsewhere. I open up live radar and see for myself what is happening. I can see with a live shot what is coming with a better understanding of what is happening around me.
This is how it applies to signs from heaven. I can see the signs of the times. I know the Word and in it is a forecast. These forecasts are called prophecy but unlike weather forecasts they are 100% accurate because they are from God who sees all things from a perspective that they have already happened.
The spiritual forecast is my queue to turn on my spiritual radar and see for myself what is happening to my world around me. I do not react to the prophecy. I react to the spiritual insight, that vision given to me by God in the person of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Revelation, not forecast, is your call to obedience of faith.
