Wordcraft

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Wordcraft is a made up word. How long does it have to be placed in use in order to become part of society and then added to a dictionary? The answer to that is based in society itself. Society determines for itself acceptable understandings. Society loves to be cleaver. Multiphasic uses are common.

But what is the Word? Some will tell you that it is the Holy Bible. We do not have complete and perfect understanding of the original manuscripts or else we would not have so many versions in English. Let me take you to the Greek and show you the first use context of the Word in John 1:1 from the outline of biblical usages, logos, 1 of speech: A; a word, uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea.

John 1:1 translated; In the beginning was the utterance, and the utterance was with God, and the utterance was God.

Wordcrafting the verse shows a new sense, one of hearing, not merely reading and understanding. The reading and understanding of the Holy Bible is first and foremost a social introduction by means of human experience and introduction. It introduces you to the speaker but it does not allow you to hear the speaker. For that you need an utterance and an ear to hear.

Hebrews 1:2-3 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power

God speaks to us by His Son but we cannot hear the Son unless He is alive in us. The utterances of the living voice, logos.

John 15:3-4 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you.

  1. Your post this morning is extremely precious. It reinforces the most important point of Christianity…… true Christianity is not a religion, it is a personal relationship with my Lord Jesus…He dwells in me and I in Him. I wouldn’t trade this relationship for anything this world has to offer: there is nothing that can compare. Thank you dear brother, and thank you Lord Jesus for being my “utterance” …… “logos” in life!! I love You dearly, You are my LIFE!!
