Faith

Romans 12:3c God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Dealt, as in distributed, given, a thing set apart unto you which you did not have before Jesus became the Lord of your life.

The one conversation that continues to happen in group meetings is the use of belief as if it were equal to or the same as faith.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

This is a true statement. Now what?

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight:

We can see and believe many things which have nothing to do with faith. I believe we have all read or heard that faith comes by hearing. We do not see a conversation, we hear it. Faith is instructional because it originates from God who purposes His will.

Isaiah 46:11b yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

The only way that we can participate in that is to hear God. Faith comes by hearing and you cannot obey God if you cannot hear God. The scriptures are full of general commands and they are to be obeyed and that is right. General commands apply to everyone.

John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Hebrews 11:6 says without faith it is impossible to please him (God) and pleasing God is all about obedience of faith and walking in His will.

Romans 16:26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

All that went before was done for this one purpose, obedience of faith.

Then and Then

Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Here the disciples of Jesus ask Him plain and simple, how will we know? I dare say that the most accurate answer given to them should have been, “Don’t worry about signs, you won’t live that long.” Given that the answers that were hints as to the signs and times of the end, then the words were left for you and me to ponder during our walk with Jesus.

I dare say there hasn’t been a generation of believers at any time that did not want to know the same answer. Years later after many of the apostles had already died there were those who were seeking those same answers of Paul. Once again, only hints of signs of the times were given.

In both cases there was the issue of then and then. Order was given. There was and is order to all that God does. Order not chaos is God’s way. The hints are but hints they are not prognostic indicators of times and places which will lead us to a knowing of the when and how.

I have made timeline charts of all the prophecies and overlaid one upon the other to align the same or similar events in prophecy. This lead to nothing but order. There were no clear dates to hang your hat upon. The only clear message I found in all the study was given by Jesus Himself related to that end.

Matthew 24:45-46 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Do not allow the signs of the times to stop service.
