Truth is revealed, not understood.
I have taken you through a brief journey of Daniel 12:4. By no means did we cover any of the deeper implications of that chapter. That wasn’t the point. My summary in saying that truth is revealed not understood is one of the major misunderstandings of many bible studies.
The search for truth is not getting all the information, set in the right order, where it is defendable against scoffers and those with enough worldly wisdom to argue with you. The search for Truth is a search for a man, the Son of Man, Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Here is a trinity of aspects of which Jesus is the central figure. He is the person of God, fully God, and fully man. In this quest surrounding Daniel 12:4 Truth is the object of discussion. We will never find Jesus via information technology, DVD, study bibles, or even the bible on your nightstand unless He reveals Himself to you.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
Trust is a relationship word. You can trust what God is telling you, but are you hearing God or understanding scripture?
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Do you read this to mean understanding the scriptures? Then allow me to quote one more verse.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Rightly dividing in 2 Timothy is explained better in Hebrews 4 as a method of revelation of that which is in you that is soulish and that which is spirit, that which moves you and that which is life itself, to clarify your thoughts in alignment with your new heart condition. In ranching terms, He guts you to expose your innards.
What are you made of?
