Mark 10:32a And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid.
What do you think when someone says “You’re in the way”? Aren’t you seen as an impediment?
The term “in the way” is used 93 times in the bible. One of the first occurrences is found in Genesis.
Genesis 24:27c I being in the way, the Lord led me
In the truest sense being “In the Way” is to be in Christ, to be a follower of Christ, to be led by our Lord and Savior. Remember that Jesus said to us, “I am the Way” in John 14:6.
If that is true for you, the next parts of Mark 10:32 are also true. You will be amazed at what Christ does in you and thru you. Along with that will come a certain amount of fearfulness because you will become an impediment to other people’s sin desire. You will be challenged for your belief and steadfast stance for truth and the life you live.
The world says, “Get out of my way!”
Can you see yourself as an impediment to sin? James and John, the sons of Zebedee did. When challenged over their ability to walk “in the Way” they answered without hesitation “we can”.
Read Mark 10:32-52 and answer for yourselves Christ’s call to walk with Him “in the Way”.
