Saw That

Genesis 1:10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

All that God created was good, right and perfect. Then God saw what was not good, that man should be alone. Adam was at this point good, right and perfect. Then he lost a rib.

Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Good, pleasant, wise are all positive aspects. The woman saw that. She saw that for herself. What she saw was good, right and perfect, but it wasn’t everything that could be seen. Where in scripture does Eve or Adam for that matter seek understanding from God?

There are so many things that seem right in my eyes, but I do not see everything.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

We grow, we learn, we gain wisdom, we are a new creation, born again in righteousness by faith. We see things through new eyes, we have ears to hear, and our understanding is Selah. Yet like Adam who was good, right and perfect we often times fail to ask God, “Is there anything I am missing here?”

Everything I see isn’t everything there is.
