Leviticus 6:10 And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches shall he put upon his flesh, and take up the ashes which the fire hath consumed with the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.
I think we can all see that the garments represent putting on Christ, our High Priest. Can you agree?
Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
I do not think it anything special in a priest putting on Christ, I expect it. No surprises there. But look to when he put on Christ, as representing Christ in acting out the law of the burnt offering. He put on Christ after the sacrifice was consumed upon the alter.
Why is that significant? Think about it for a minute.
1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
Christ is our Passover, He is the sacrifice, but it is the risen Christ who takes the ashes off the alter of sacrifice and lays it down beside the alter. This is not the Jesus who walked in perfection in His ministry prior to the Cross. This is the risen Christ. Our identity is in the risen savior not the perfect man.
If you see something else, please share.
Tomorrow we shall talk about the ashes that the risen Lord has placed beside the alter.
Think on that and be prepared to comment on what you see in Leviticus 6:11.
Well put, brother. You made a most important statement “our identity is in the risen Savior, not the perfect man.” Consequently this requires sacrifice in our lives as Christians…”Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world”. 1John 2:15….”if you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are ABOVE, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things ABOVE, not on things on the earth. For you are dead (to this world) and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:1,2 and 3. PTL….I’m dead to THIS world but alive to God!!!!
I’m a spiritual being on an earthly journey. Thank You Lord Jesus!
Wow you are on fire!!
