A newborn cries out at the conversion from womb to world. Being born again isn’t such a drastic change. The spirit is gentle and kind and does not want to scare you away. He is more of a whisper than a shout.
1 Kings 19:11-12 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
If you learn His voice, He will give you direction in life.
Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Like all newborns, you are born into a new world full of wonders and bewilderments and the language is strange to you. You are now born in the spirit, with new eyes and new ears. Your tendancy is to close them for the brightness and return to that other more familiar world.
Isaiah 35:5-7 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
Matthew 11:15 He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
My daughter wrote a song many years ago in which she said these words:
“I heard the little baby cry, with opened ears and opened eyes…” speaking of the moment of being born again.
The name of the song was, “I Realized.”
