1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
When you have been losing the tinniest win is a move in the right direction. Recognizing and praising God in that tiny win is important. It might not be the big win you were hoping for but sometimes you forget to give credit where credit is due.
A starving man is grateful for another man’s discards. We forget that when we are abounding. Abasement teaches you to be grateful for God’s manna in the dry desert.
Philippians 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
That is experience not theory. Some lessons are taught the hard way.
