He is Worthy

Revelation 5:11-12 English Standard Version (ESV)

11 Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”

The Super Bowl champions have a parade thrown for them by their home town. That is nothing compared to the homecoming welcome Jesus Christ received after He accomplished His earthly mission.

Jesus Christ deserves all the accolades accorded to the Son of God as He came home to be with the Father and take His rightful place. I am ashamed to even mention Super Bowl champs in the same breath with my Lord Jesus Christ. The truth is nothing on earth compares nor even comes close.

We have spent a few days thinking about the life He led leading up to His crucifixion. We give praise to our Lord for His work on the Cross. Many of us hold the Cross up as a symbol of our faith. I would like to reiterate Revelation 5:12 one more time.

“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!”

All that lives in our hearts by faith. What kind of honor and glory and blessings do we give to the One who is worthy? Words of praise seem woefully inadequate. We cannot come close to giving Him the same reception He got when He went to the Father. What can we possibly do for the Lamb who is worthy?

John 14:20-21 English Standard Version (ESV)

20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”
