Exodus 4:10-13 English Standard Version (ESV)
10 But Moses said to the Lord, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” 11 Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” 13 But he said, “Oh, my Lord, please send someone else.”
If God had chosen a great orator to speak to Pharaoh his answer might have been “Sure I got this.” When I left you yesterday I said; “How is it that God chooses to use us where we are not well suited?” It all comes down to this; who is to get the glory? Men who are known for any particular skill will be seen as talented. What God desires is for us to be seen as sons of God who are loved by the Father.
The issue at hand is to come to know God and His Son Jesus Christ. Wise and prudent men will be seen to be wise and prudent but men none the less.
1 Corinthians 1:26-28 English Standard Version (ESV)
26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are,
Paul states this right up front, consider your calling. Being called of God means that God intends to use you. We are used of God, not the other way around.
