Deuteronomy 32:29-31 English Standard Version (ESV)
29 If they were wise, they would understand this; they would discern their latter end!
30 How could one have chased a thousand, and two have put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and the Lord had given them up?
31 For their rock is not as our Rock; our enemies are by themselves.
Is this about wisdom or where we stand? It is both but the more important part is the stand we take. Standing on the Word of God leads to wisdom. Standing on secular wisdom fails because it constantly changes. It is that shifting sand that does not support those who rely upon it.
1 Kings 3:11-12 English Standard Version (ESV)
11 And God said to him, “Because you have asked this, and have not asked for yourself long life or riches or the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern what is right, 12 behold, I now do according to your word. Behold, I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been before you and none like you shall arise after you.
It takes a selfless heart to ask rightly of God. The rewards are great if we ask aright.
There are many examples of prayers to God within the bible. Choose wisely which one you take to heart and proclaim.
James 1:5 English Standard Version (ESV) If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
We have to be wise enough to understand that we need Godly wisdom above the conceit of our own minds. Any measure of success in secular wisdom has no value in Kingdom living. That is like trying to stand on The Rock with one foot firmly planted in the sand. It causes one to lean.
