Unreasonable

Philippians 2:14a Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

OK, now you’re just being unreasonable.

I opened up my biblegateway bible app and this is the opening line of verse for the day. It pierced my conscience with a deep wound. I was right in the middle of a deep pity party and now its ruined. How can I go on with my whining now in the face of the truth?

God will not ask you to do anything which you are incapable of doing. I might like to face the truth at times, but it is for my own good and the good of my relations with others. But I was so enjoying my moment of good whine. Why did He have to go and ruin it?

Oh, yes, that right, I asked Him to be the Lord of my life. He has the power and authority. I gave myself over to Him, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I should not be amazed that He should choose this moment to exert authority. Amazed perhaps, but not surprised. Amazed because He cares that much.

I do not know what this day will bring. He does. I do not know what my attitude will do towards the day, He does. I have no idea if a blessing or a tribulation will occur today, He does.

Romans 8:28b all things work together for good to them that love God,

Since I believe that by faith, then I should act like it is true and embrace the day knowing that my God loves me enough to say, “Quit your whining and get up.”

OK, OK I’m up.

“Lose the attitude.”

Yes, my Lord.

  1. I loved the analogy of the roller coaster ride as regards ‘being along for the ride’. But there’s another roller coaster – my attitude. In that case, I love it that the Holy Spirit is my ‘leveler’. The more I yield to Him, the less I have major ups & downs.
