1 Corinthians 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

The soul is comprised of the mind, will and emotions. It is obvious that all the new science outweighs all the science discovered prior to the last half century. We are now programming at the molecular level. We are splicing DNA. We are on the verge of artificial intelligence. Our minds have evolved.

Our will is stronger than ever. Human drive and determination has led to a number of billionaires that is now larger than the number of millionaires that ever existed in any period in history prior to world war two. Our will has evolved.

We are the most compassionate people in recorded history. More money is given to support humanitarian goals each year than the gross national product of some well developed countries. Our capacity for compassion is limitless. Our emotions have evolved.

Yes we have evolved as souls. Not one bit of that counts towards the salvation of a single soul. All of that if done of the flesh counts for nothing in regards to salvation. It takes the spirit to accomplish the goal of salvation, to reach the end game.

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

We need to be spiritually minded, not wise in our own conceits.

1 Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

We have come a long way since the law was given. Man has evolved beyond the demands of the Mosaic law.

Leviticus 11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

This is the best known of the unclean animals of Leviticus. Some religions still adhere to abstaining from eating pork. I live in BBQ country and have no such objection. There are many unclean issues given in the bible and they are not all about food.

Scientifically we have discovered that all these instructions were meant to keep us safe and healthy. We have gained in knowledge and there is no need for us to abide by these commands, we have evolved. The intent of the law to keep us safe and healthy is no longer required. We are bigger, faster, and stronger than ever. Just look at our pro athletes.

God provided for our safety when we were ignorant of the dangers surrounding health. Not all His command were given for health reasons. I can see picking and choosing which health commands to ignore. Others pick and choose what commands to ignore because they are no longer desired. This is a mistake, but it happens. Give people the liberty to say “all things are lawful” and they soon ignore what is and is not expedient. Paul’s reference to that in 1 Corinthians 6 was in relationship to the goal, the end game.

Godly wisdom is required to make those distinctions.
