Colossians 1:27 English Standard Version (ESV) To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
How do we explain a mystery we ourselves have not fully realized? Christ in us, the hope of glory, is the manifestations of Christ, the essence of who Christ is in Truth. He has given of Himself. He has given us His Spirit who tells us all the things Christ has said.
Try to think of Him as the Great Physician for a moment. First do no harm. He loves us, is gentle, kind, and understanding and knows us better than we know ourselves. He is not going to scream at us from His dwelling place. He knows how to talk to each of us in a way that we both understand He is speaking and are able to accept and believe in our hearts.
We are all experienced in different ways with minds that are very busy. Our minds are full of memories, we are emotional people, and we have cares and concerns. Those things can outshout that quiet voice in our inner being. It is not that we intend to shut God out, it is something we have to learn to control in order to hear Him clearly.
We are asked to come to Him early. In one sense it is a time of first reflection, reading His Word, meditating, quieting ourselves and listening. In another sense it is coming to Him before the troubles of each day come upon us. Each day presents itself with new challenges and troubling ourselves with those things before we set aside a time to spend time with God makes hearing more difficult.
Luckily for us Christ is faithful to perform the will of God the Father even if we are not aware of it. He is God in us and has not relinquished His authority over us. He would prefer we listen and obey. This too is a mystery to be revealed.
