Ezekiel 38:2-3 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
Read Ezekiel 38. OK, are you done now? It is only 23 verses, not a long read. Now I ask you this, if Gog read and believed God about this, would Gog heed the prophetic warning and not go to that land to take a spoil? If you were Gog and believed, you would not, because belief tempers action.
OMG, Oh My Gog, I am not Gog. I do not see myself in the prophecy. Ezekiel is prophesying to someone else not me. I would never be like that. There is no possible way that I would ever be like that.
I will believe you if and only if you can assure me this, you are the Son of man and that you have set your face against Gog. The reason I say this is because hidden within the opening verse are two key issues, Identity and Attitude.
Each and every one of us have the capacity for taking spoils. It is within our nature. The only thing that will stop us is identity and attitude.
