Luke 13:32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
Did you open this blog expecting to read about Political Correctness? Well this PC is not about being politically correct, it is about being the perfect Christian. I find a direct correlation between the two, in that when you try and be either, someone will denounce it.
Here in chapter 13 of Luke our Lord is speaking about rising on the third day to be perfected. Understand, this is the only man ever who was tempted in all ways as a man and did not sin. He recognized that not sinning was not perfection. He is perfected because He shed His mortal coils and put on immortality. Perfection is the long term goal and cannot be attained in this life.
Knowing this, is there such a thing as a perfect Christian? Perhaps it is our perception of what we think a Christian should be that colors our opinion of perfection. If thinking a Christian is Christ and that you should see Christ in a perfect Christian, then how would you know since you have not met Christ? Jesus of Nazareth was sinless yet not perfected. We are not sinless so is perfect a fair adjective? Allow me to share a verse about what I consider to be a perfect Christian. Once again, MY OPINION.
Luke 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
A perfect Christian is honest with God about how he feels about himself.
I never thought if it this way, Larry. I love it, I think you’re spot on!
