Take Away

2 Kings 6:8-23 was the tale yesterday and as I said there are lessons to be learned there.

Being a bottom line kind of guy that I am, allow me to give you my take away.

You cannot change the hearts and minds of the enemy by destroying them.

2 Kings 6:22

He answered, “You shall not strike them down. Would you strike down those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master.”

Before we go about trying to capture our enemies let us listen to the Lord as He instructs us about how to go about doing that. Elisha heard the Lord and brought that word to the King of Israel.

2 Kings 6:10

And the king of Israel sent to the place about which the man of God told him. Thus he used to warn him, so that he saved himself there more than once or twice.

Leaders cannot take sound counsel if they do not have sound counselors.

As I said yesterday, there are many lessons to be learned in the telling of 2 Kings 6:8-23.

What you see and hear needs to come from the Lord. This take away is just those things I see and hear. I wish to give sound counsel.

One last piece I wish to share is this; the moral of a story is best seen by those who have moral character to begin with.

Guard your heart with all integrity.
