Isaiah 26:7 The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous.
The Way, it’s meant to be effortless.
John 14:6 (parsed) “I am the way.”
Jesus never tried to “make a name for himself”. Looking at what He did will remind us that He always pointed to the Father.
- Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;
- Matthew 11:26 yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.
- Matthew 12:50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
The will of the Father was always paramount.
John 5:30 “I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.”
Yet we struggle. If this is meant to be effortless, why do we struggle?
Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;”
Little children know that they do not know. We cannot discover the will of the Father through intellect.
1 Corinthians 8:1 (parsed) we know that “all of us possess knowledge.” This “knowledge” puffs up, but love builds up.
1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Jesus showed us how to love God the Father. He is the Way of Love.
